The Kiss Cam

Happy Sunday. It's been a few weeks back. It's likely you saw video of the downfall of a couple of people. They were at a Coldplay concert.

The Kiss Cam was scanning the audience for couples and the cameraman zoomed in on a couple. The man was standing behind her with his arms wrapped around her and they were watching the concert. And when their image hit the screen, she immediately covered her face and well, he ducked down behind a row of seats. Out of the view of the camera, he disappeared totally.

From the stage, one of the musicians said, "Now these two are really shy or they're having an affair." As it turns out, they were having an affair. They thought they were safe from prying eyes and now a video of their moment has gone viral and has been seen by millions. It's a sad story.

The fallout has been swift and brutal. I pray that these two will seek God in the midst of this horrible storm. In our society, cameras are everywhere. Our house has a Ring doorbell in the front and a camera in the back.

There are traffic cameras all around where I drive, and the stores I visit all likely have modern surveillance systems. I am still amazed to this day that people try to rob banks. Before they are out the door, the police have their picture on file and with facial recognition, it's only a matter of time before they are identified. Today, as I continue our series on the truth, I want to look at this truth from Proverbsap 15:3.

There we are told, "The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good." Let me read it again. The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. As a Christian, I must realize that God is always watching.

I do not make one move that is in secret. That one truth, the eyes of the Lord are in every place, should always motivate us. Please know that he not only sees us but hears our every word and knows our every thought. God can do that.

Back to the Coldplay concert cam. I have no idea if those people profess any type of a faith whatsoever, but their story is as old as time. Do you recall in Genesis after Adam and Eve sinned, do you remember what they did? They hid or they tried to hide from God.

If you see the video, that's exactly what this couple did. She hid her face. He hid his entire body. We must know that there is no hiding from God.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. That's not true. In Luke 8:17, Jesus said, "For nothing is hidden that will not be disclosed, nor is anything secret that will not become known and come to light."

Again, we get away with nothing. Maybe in this world, but never in the next. The good news is that God cares enough about us to watch us. When Jeie and I travel, we always ask for God to watch us and protect us.

A few weeks back, my or this week actually, my grandchildren went back to school and I asked God daily to watch over them. When you're a Christ follower and you have a belief that behaves, you're comforted by the thought that the eyes of the Lord are in every place. A few weeks back, two of our grandchildren stayed with us for a week. At night, when they were sleeping, I'd catch myself just watching them, watching them breathe, watching them sleep.

And in those moments, I was praying for their futures and thanking God for our time together. As I did that, I thought of God watching over me, and I was elated. I am thankful to be in his watch care. You know, it all depends on how we're behaving, doesn't it?

The eyes of God are always on us. Pray with me. God, let us live lives that are testimonies to you. Let us live lives that we're proud for people to see, not because of our goodness, but because of your greatness.

God, help us to be keenly aware of your presence always and help that to lead to a revival in this world. It's in Jesus name we pray. Amen. God bless.
