About David Shivers

David Shivers

Born and raised in Atlanta, called to preach as a student at Mississippi State University, David Shivers has had the great pleasure of pastoring churches in Mississippi, Indiana, and Georgia. Back home in Atlanta, David and his wife Jeanne are blessed with 2 great children who chose 2 great spouses. The family has grown to include 5 perfectly grand grandchildren!

As the third generation in his family to answer God’s call to preach, David has a unique ability to share the Good News of Jesus in a clear and concise way.

"It took me years to realize I was lost. It took months of prayer to guide my search. It only took one time of meeting Reverend David Shivers to know God had answered my cry.

Words can't accurately explain what it felt like that day when I walked into a random church and had this stranger slide into my pew and start talking to me like a friend. He never even mentioned that he was the pastor.

When he stepped up to the pulpit to deliver the sermon, I was shocked. How had this man noticed me? This man who had so many people in his congregation to lead...how did he know immediately that I was new and lost and in need?

That's the kind of pastor David is. He knows his people. And he knows the people who aren't his people. And he makes you his people, because he truly does care and is a man of God.

Over the years, I have gotten to know David and his wife, Jeanne, and these people are where it's at. They teach the word of God and most importantly, they live it. There has never been a time when I've reached out that they haven't responded. Rev. Shivers taught me on Sundays, but he made time for me always!

There was a time when I struggled and asked him to meet me. It wasn't even about anything major compared to so many problems in the world, but it was major to me. That made it major to him. He counseled me, and what he told me to search in the Bible that day has changed my life.

He teaches in a way that makes me want to listen. David brought me back to my Father and reminded me of the gift of my Savior. For that, I am forever grateful."
